creative life
I am the proud founder and artistic director of BreakingEven, an all-adult, mixed-level dance troupe made up of Albuquerque women who embrace embodied literacy and organic movement as a means of healing, storytelling, and community-building. While BreakingEven puts on multiple variety shows and performs for local showcases and fundraisers, our true passion is our narrative shows: productions that combine dance and movement with original, feminist retellings of canonical literary works. You can find out more about BreakingEven’s past, current, and future work at our website or on any of our social media accounts.
Alongside my work with BreakingEven, I am involved with many other local arts organizations. I am currently a teacher, co-director, choreographer, and company member at Alley Kats Tap Studio & Companies, where I get to pursue my own love of tap, jazz, and yoga while instilling and nurturing a love for dance and athleticism in others. I am also a seasonal choreographer and featured dancer for The New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus, and have choreographed multiple productions for Musical Theatre Southwest and Albuquerque Little Theatre. Recently, I joined Find Your Light Productions as their board’s vice president and as a guest performer, and look forward to working with this organization in uniting local talent to perform for charitable causes.
Check out the original narration I wrote for both shows!
